Not all convictions will result in disqualification from licensure. The fact that an applicant for licensure has been convicted of a crime does not, by itself, prevent the applicant from applying for and receiving a license from the Division. The Division encourages all applicants who meet the qualifications for licensure to apply, including individuals with a record of criminal conviction. This includes both felony and misdemeanor convictions.
You may want to submit a PAO, or Preliminary Advisory Opinion request to the Colorado Real Estate Commission first. You can read more about that on our site by clicking here.
Apex licensure and pre-license programs are approved and regulated by the Department of Private Occupational Schools and all courses delivered for continuing education are approved by the Colorado Division of Real Estate under the rules of the Colorado Real Estate Commission. HB22-1049 Transcript/Diploma/Certificate Withholding requires Apex Real Estate School to disclose when we will withhold completion certificates from students. In short, we don't. Transcripts or certificates are made available to all students upon request at any time. Here is the official Apex policy on this issue:
